Objectives

LCA participants show off their ribbons at the end of the first session

LCA is the place to come if you want any or all of the following:

  • To start a cheerleading squad
  • To learn new cheers, chants & dances
  • To gain leadership and squad bonding
  • To get together with other cheerleaders
  • To win ribbons for excellence & spirit
  • To learn to coach & organise a squad
  • Information on competition & cheer opportunities

As London Cheerleading Academy develops:

  • LCA will organise workshops for coaches, probably to be held during warm-up and technique time. These workshops will involve networking as well as practical squad building information
  • Cheerleaders can invite LCA staff to their schools to give input on weekly practice structure and advise on competition routines
  • LCA will help cheerleaders find sources for uniforms, cheer clothes, poms, etc. by inviting vendors to bring merchandise to show the cheerleaders
  • LCA will hire out pom pons for squads to use at performances and special events
  • Squads with at least 20 members aged 11-25 who reside in the Jack Petchey catchment areas (East London/West Essex) may be eligible for the Jack Petchey Awards Scheme. This could be a excellent way to recognise leadership & citizenship and to help your squad raise money for & choose their own kit, etc. For more details ring 020 8252 8000 or visit http://www.jackpetcheyfoundation.org.uk
